From coal and pet coke to gypsum, limestone, slag and ash, Wolf Point’s engineers have decades of experience designing and constructing systems to move materials for power generation.
We have specialized knowledge of the distinct handling requirements of different types of coal, including bituminous, lignite and Powder River Basin. In addition, as changing environmental regulations have necessitated cleaner energy sources, Wolf Point provides expertise in moving and storing wood pellets and other alternative fuels.
Wolf Point and NAFCO were contracted by Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company for the Conveyors 10 & 11 Replacement Project at Sooner Generating Station, near Red Rock, Oklahoma. Wolf Point’s scope of work included engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation, and fabrication was done at NAFCO’s Cullman, Alabama, fabrication facility.
NAFCO was contracted to demolish and replace the preparation plant and conveyors at Cliffs Natural Resources’ Oak Grove facility, which were severely damaged by the tornadoes that swept through Alabama in April 2011. The project was completed in 2012 and included more than 2 million pounds of fabricated steel.
