Wolf Point's Parent Company, NAFCO, Providing Structural Steel for New NASA Project

NAFCO recently won a contract to provide structural steel fabrication and erection for NASA's new Space Launch System (SLS) test stands at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), in Alabama. The SLS is scheduled to debut in 2018, providing NASA with a Super Heavy Lift Launch Vehicle option for the first time since the Saturn V. But before SLS is allowed to launch, the key elements of the rocket need to be tested at MSFC to ensure they can withstand the stresses of ascent. Read more about the project here.

Wolf Point Forms Alliance with South African Company CKIT to Offer EPC Pipe Conveyor Systems

Wolf Point Engineers & Contractors recently entered into a strategic alliance with CKIT, a world-renowned designer of pipe conveyor systems, to offer North American customers an alternative to conventional trough conveyors. CKIT is a Cape Town, South Africa-based materials-handling consulting and engineering company that has dozens of pipe conveyor installations in Africa, Europe, and Asia, including more than 20 in India. Through this alliance, Wolf Point becomes one of only a handful of firms with the capability to provide complete EPC pipe conveyor systems in North America.

Wolf Point Wins Contract for Screening, Crushing, Storage and Rail Loading System

Wolf Point Engineers & Contractors recently contracted with Oxbow Calcining LLC for complete engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPC) for a new screening, crushing, storage and rail loading system to be incorporated into their existing calcining facility located near Enid, Oklahoma. Ancillary items include a new sampling system and a dust-collection and wash-down system.

Wolf Point Wins Contract for Extension of Limestone-Handling System

Wolf Point Engineers & Contractors recently contracted with Southern Company to design and supply equipment to extend the existing limestone-handling system at the Georgia Power Company’s Plant Bowen, located near Euharlee, Georgia. The scope of supply includes all necessary engineering, detail design, drawings, material and equipment, fabrication, quality control, shipment, delivery, testing, and start-up support.

Wolf Point Wins Contract for Coal Preparation Plant

Wolf Point Engineers & Contractors was recently awarded a contract for the structural and foundation design and engineering of a new a 900-ton-per-hour coal preparation plant at the Ohio County Mine, in Marshall County, West Virginia. In addition to design and engineering, Wolf Point is providing shop detail drawings.

Wolf Point Wins Contract for Urea Storage and Handling System

Wolf Point Engineers & Contractors was recently awarded a contract from ORASCOM E&C USA Inc. for a urea storage and handling system located near Wever, Iowa. Wolf Point’s scope of supply is complete engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPC) including deep foundations. The system will consist of two transfer towers, four conveyors, a storage building housing a urea pile, a traveling tripper car, a bypass system, a traveling hopper, a truck loading station with a surge bin, two weigh bins, slide gates, and a telescoping spout, six truck weigh bridges, belt scales, and dust collection. The system is also designed to allow for future expansion.

Wolf Point Wins Contract for Pet Coke Handling System in Louisiana

Wolf Point Engineers & Contractors was recently awarded a contract from Oxbow Carbon LLC for a pet coke material handling system near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Wolf Point’s scope of supply is complete engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning (EPC) of the #4 CPC Tank Project, which includes chutes, conveyors, a slide gate, a weigh feeder, a bucket elevator, a magnet, and dust collection. Oxbow Carbon LLC is the largest and most diversified producer and marketer of calcined petroleum coke globally.

Wolf Point Engineers & Contractors Continues Adding Expertise

Wolf Point Engineers is continuing to add to its market-leading expertise by taking on two new industry veterans. On February 3, 2014, Paul Meifert, P.E., will join the company as Senior Project Manager and Gabor Meszaros, MSc. S.E., will come on board as Structural Engineering Manager.

Meifert is a former senior project and engineering manager for Roberts & Schaefer Company. He has more than 33 years of experience in domestic and international mineral and power projects, and he specializes in EPC projects valued over $100 million.

Meszaros is also a former Roberts & Schaefer Company staff member, having served there as a senior structural engineer. Licensed in Illinois, he brings more than 25 years of experience in design and construction on a wide variety of projects and with expertise in bulk material handling systems.

Wolf Point Wins Contract for Pond Recovery Plant

Wolf Point Engineers & Contractors has been awarded a contract to provide detailed engineering for a 200 tons-per-hour pond recovery plant. The scope of work consists of fine coal screening, primary classifying cyclones and spiral separation circuit for clean coal and refuse, secondary classifying cyclones for fine coal and refuse separation, and fine coal dewatering. Engineering is scheduled to be complete by the second quarter of 2014.
